DSP disassembling for real hacking

Hi,

I think the best way to fully crackd up phones, that disassembing its programcode.<br />Give up the hard and painfull backup compairs, but look for a developers progs for that DSP and microprocesor which built in the mobiles!

Regreatfully I havent got any usefull softver for this work. These are maybe a secret platform? Why? I think the GSM is an open platform for any company, isnt it?

Can anybody help to me?

TI is the producer for Nokia DSP. But TI catalog not refers Nokia <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

On some Service Manuals , it writes "TMS320C542" chip.You can find a lot of information on Texas Instruments site.

Do you think this is the rigtht way for all problem of gsm hacking, especially MCU& PPM changing?<br />Get 2 same type&version phone full backups with factory setting. Find the differences. Disassembing the full backups, looking for the address of differences. Find that what kind of instunctions, operations refers to these differences. After MCU/ppm changing compensate or ignore the differences, AND OK.

Which Nokia use TMS320C542?

Or maybe the all nokia has got the same C5000 platform?

hi,<br />yes, dsp code can be download and dissasambled with IDA. However some specific knowledge about the hardware won´t hurt.<br />I think that have no sense to compare flashes.<br />We have to search for the ppm&mcu check to patch it and create clean flashes.<br />Problems are:<br />- Time, 2Mgs flash size is a big, big file for searching in assambler<br />- Understand the phone hardware and the dsp comands

Personaly I can do the first part but I am not a eminence in phone hardware. People interesting in create an open project to do it?,

Do U really use an appropriate IDA for disasesmbling? There are mnemonic and assembler manuals on Texas site.

I think the PPM changing only for bussines that people who live east-europe? Bcaus mobile prices getting decrase earlier in westEU than east EU, it is give a business opportunity for that people, who able to change PPM. I'm rigt or not?
