Post DSP disassembling for real hacking

'Intel believes will help it compete in the cellular handset market currently dominated by Texas Instruments Inc.'s combination of its TMS320C54x DSP and ARM7 RISC microprocessor hybrid. "We are already a major supplier of flash memory to the cellular phone market," said Ronald Smith, vice president and general manager of Intel's Wireless Communications & Computing Group. "We also understand a lot about system architectures." The increased power of the XScale processor will enable it to address many of the tasks currently being handled by DSPs in cellular phones and related handheld portable equipment, Smith said. '

Does anybody know more something about that ARM7 RISC architecture? For example a usefull free IDA to crack full flash files from Nokias

It is sure it is not a secret platform, because ARM7 is used in other applications engineering. Any developers are here this forum?

Wink

That time will us the big *****, when Nokia decide to use secret microprocessor architect, with secret instructon and memory handling.
An actual flash backup has a linear memory structure, with visible important sections like MCU,PPM,EEPROM and chk sums. But if will be not so clear form, the prcessor will use secret inbuild vectors and jumps the flash backups will seemd to mixed, whitout any section. Files comparing will be seemd ussless thing

But it should has got a big cost for Nokia, so while unlockers, PPM changers guy run a little business Nokia wont pay money for new secret, closed platform processor applications.

Question

My friend, what you want to know, be in the secrets of Gods, I know that some members of this forum know much thing about this, but are not interested in divulging. Most of them only looks information but they do not give then. I have datasheet of the ARM7 if to want,i sending you by e-mail, but this not help you. Desassemble the flash is almost impossible because the Nokia it uses proper Mnemonics.

What are you mean about "Nokia uses proper mnemonics"?

Do They uses secret mnemonics, not ARM7 mnemonics?

I'm not be programmer or not a cracker, but could read aasemly code, if I know the functin of mnemonics.

The question is that: ARM7 mnemonics are secret, only the nokia knows, or not so secret and some other application(not cellular) engineer also knows? I think this that Texas says TMS 320 C54 uses other many application. They also give a free developer soft, but it need a simulater too.
An other box again

that mnemonics maybe usefull some smart guys (like Viper and others) to develop an IDA and crack NOKIA

Hi masterID,

Please read the entire 7110 manual - good diagram of what's inside MAD2, and also the memory map

Sorry but if you start today - it will be too late because they already switch to ARM9

Best Regards
