Thumbs up FIX "Contact Service" in your 3330

hello everyone. I would like to inform everybody who has this problem that I accidentally fixed my 3330 with this STRANGE method.

My 3330 shows CONTACT SERVICE at once when you turn it ON not like the 3310 where in it will show INSERT SIM CARD first then restarts and shows CONTACT SERVICE so I thought that maybe you cannot fix it by full flashing.

I used NOKIA tool to see the phone versions and I noticed that the IMEI and ORIGINAL IMEI was still OK and not at 6565656565 or 000000000 and all the locks where still OPEN so this gave me hope that flashing may fix it.

First thing I did was read out a working 3330 with the same PPM and version from address 00200000 to 00400000 I used NORMAL f_loader and boot.bin with 868 bytes. At that time i did not know the best CFG setting for 3330 so used the the one for 8850 which is 65 06.

after reading the phone, I flashed that file to my 3330 with "CONTACT SERVICE" still using the same 868 boot.bin, and same CFG settings but I used another F_loader to write, that F_loader you can download here http://www.spicanet.net/ecs/soft/nokia/f_loader_write

I must say I was feeling a bit proud when I opened my 3330 and saw my logo and animated screensaver Bounce up and down again.

Hope this helps any of you with this problem.

MATTHEW

I cant believe that you flashed the phone with full backup and the phone works now! If phone starts normal and restart with CS after 2-3 sec., than MCU-Checksum is failed! So you only should flash firmware-part!

Greetings MR...

hello brobble. i read flash of another phone from 00200000 to 00400000 but i use cfg settings of 8850 which is 65 06. maybe this is the reason why it worked because i just found out that the best settings for 3330 is 65 08.

i always make a back up of the original flash just in case something goes wrong but in the case of my 3330 it really fixed it 100%. until now my 3330 is working and has very strong network signal. no problems encountered so far.

once again, when reading a flash from another phone, what i did was use the normal F_loader and boot.bin with 868 bytes and cfg setting of 8850 wehich is at 65 06. then when i write it i use another F_loader which you can download from the URL above and i still use boot.bin with 868 bytes and cfg settings of 8850.

It works for me so can anybody here try it out first before trying to post their theory and inform it it works in your case.

hope this helps anyone of you

MATTHEW

Hi Matthew,

The mcu sw of 3330 is from "200-490"...Since you was able to normalized it by re writing 200-400 using same mcu sw version, this simply means that the error was only within that area of the mcu sw..

Regards,

neb

For 3330 you have to use in flasher.cfg
3330 65 08
Not same like 88xx.
