Hope this will help...

Contact Service is almost always due to bad
checksum in EEPROM. If Flash is bad, the
phone wont even power on! So most likely
your problem is only in EEPROM. That is if
you did not accidentaly drop your phone from
a high place because some chips might have
lost contact to board. For hardware problems,
just put Soldering Flux (not soldering paste)
to the Chip and heat it with SMD Rework
Station (hot air). Be sure to use very low
air so small resistors or capacitors beside
Chip wont be ****n away.

For 3310, almost all the time the problem is
in EEPROM checksum only. There is not yet a
software for 3310 EEPROM fixing, but if you
know where checksum is, then it will be easy
to do it manually. To know where 1st checksum
is, read entire flash from working phone at
00200000 to 00400000 and save it as backup.
Now change the security of the phone then
read the flash again at same address. You
will see changes of course, look for the
security code in the form of 31 32 33 34 35
for 12345... Now look for the nearest byte
that also changed and that is 1st checksum.
Do not mind the other changes. Checksum is
2 bytes if I am not mistaken... Replace the
checksum with correct one (you must know
how to calculate of course). And write
flash again to phone... All should be well...

Best Regards,
X-Shadow

Ok then the first thing to find the chksum
shouldn`t be to difficult but calculating a new chksum ?
Does anybody know how and is it possible to do this manually without a sw ?

Try this with 3310, but only for checksum
block 1... This is tested only on 8210 and
8850... I dont have 3310 right now to
experiment with because all is sold out!!!

[Contact Service Repairer for 8210, 8850 by X-Shadow]
[December 23, 2000 - - email: [email protected] ]

* This will only repair 'Contact Service' due to bad Checksum in EEPROM
* This will only repair Checksum Block 1
* If you are not sure about what you are doing, make a backup of the
entire flash first of your phone by reading address 00200000 to
00400000 and the put readed file in a safe place.
* I am not liable to any damages that may happen to your phone while
doing this. If you dont know what you are doing, then might as well
stick to sending Logos and Ringertones...

1. Read Address 003d0000 to 003e0000 using Dejan Flasher
2. Run Hackman 3.21 and open Flash.out
3. Delete first 38 bytes or address 0000:0000 upto 0000:0025
4. Save file as EEPROM.bin
5. Run Bartek Contact Service Repairer 1.0
6. Click 3210 in Phone type and open file EEPROM.bin (You must
see correct IMEI at 'Displayed IMEI' otherwise you are
doing something wrong)
7. Look at 'Counted' Checksum and take note of the 2 bytes
Example: Counted: [8F (143dec)] [33 (51dec)]
* first byte is 8F
* second byte is 33
8. Go back to Hackman 3.21 and open Flash.out
9. Edit address 0000:0144 and put the first byte from Bartek Soft
10. Edit address 0000:0145 and put the second byte from Bartek Soft
11. Save file as Flash.fls and put file in 'c:\nk_files' directory
12. Write to Address 003d0000 with file Flash.fls using Dejan Flasher
