I Unlock 5110iv5.56 w/eepromtools3.1, Now Displays C.S & 4 locks closed! Pls. Help! - GSM-Forum

Hi m8s!
Can somebody pls help me sort this problem out? I use the eeprom tools 3.1 Now it displays C.S and 4 locks closed. Everytime I pressed the set default SP Locks it displays: Cant update simlock data. When I removed the cable and battery, and put the battery again and power on, it displays: Insert Sim card, but when I switch off the fone, then pressed power on again, C.S displays and again 4 locks closed. I also use Win DDp3.0, and when I pressed repair 4 locks, it displays Insert simcard, but everytime I switch off or removed the battery, it displays C.S after I power on the fone. When I used the Wintesla service software, and pressing the selftest, the diagnose displays: Eeprom checksum failed. So I removed the eeprom 24c64, then read it w/ pony programmer and eeprom burner by setting to 2464, then I save it to *.bin. Then I upload it to eeprom repairer by Guar, then repair the *.bin file then I upload it to the 24c64 eeprom. Still C.S and 4 locks closed. I check the MCU/ppm of the fone but theres nothing wrong. Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance.

You need to repair it using other method:
Replace eeprom with 24C16 (i think - must be same like in ordinary 5110) write *.bin file from 5110 in it, flash phone with 1MBflash for 5110, and after that you need Only faid update. You also can change imei if you need to do that.

Try this with Rolis Nokia Tool 1.7b

- read phone
- check if locks r closed
- check if both imeis r the same (if not correct)
- update faid
- full reset
- disconnect phone, remove battery, put it back
- TEST

IF for some reason stills on CS:

Get a good flash any version to that model

- Flash the phone
- update faid
- check if locks r closed or open, IF they'r closed, choose OPEN
- full reset phone
- disconnect phone, remove battery, put it back
- TEST

Must be working 100%

Next time to avoid tears and headaches, give phones to ppl who can handle them for good. Else, read older posts. Most prolly u'll find answers to ur probs.

I forgot to tell that I also try the method that you have said by using Rolis 1.7b and Nk_Calc.. As I said the full flash of the fone was good. Still C.S and 4 locks closed displays every time after I power off the fone or removed the battery.

...email NEB or Sandman, they have the solutions, I have tried repairing 2 units with their solutions. You'll need a good 5110 eeprom... You can browse tru the SEARCH topics/threads. It was discussed a month ago.

Hi Ed and to others!

Thanks for the help. My problem was already sorted out. I just change the 24c64 eeprom of the 5110i w/ the 24c16 w/ a good 5110 eeprom, then flash it w/ 5.30A mcu/ppm and reset scm and UI settings. And now the fone works fine. Thanks for your help guys.

I have encountered that (CS and 4 locks closed) twice already.

The 5110i was locked to a certain Service Provider. The people tried to unlock it by partial unlocking.

They downgrade it using a 5110 5.30 flash and tried partial unlocking. Result: CS and 4 locks closed.

Reflashed with original 5110i flash (5.53). Result: Still CS and 4 locks closed.

I tried: Downgrade to 5.04 and used a patched partial and tried NokiaSP to read EEPROM. Result: Invalid EEPROM content.

Some people suggested replacing the physical eeprom.

But is there a way to remove the CS and 4 locks closed by not physically altering the phone (like replacing the EEPROM)?
