Member: 4176 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Need new 7110 backside! Since i went go-karting with my 7110 still in my pocket it has now 2 smal cracks in the antenna, just below the screwed bit, which is part of the backside. Now these people at an official service point told me they weren't allowed to repair it as the backside holds the IMEI number....:-( It has to be send to Nokia and costs about 160 guilders (like 80 US$) In fact, i got a second opinion at another point, they charged even double the price! I find this a bit strange and was wondering if there is any other way to resolve this "repair problem"? Thanks! |

Member: 1272 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | where are you from???? they are pulling your leg. i've disassembled many 7110s already and the IMEI is on the PCB and not on the backplate. you can buy a backplate seperately. just remove the 4 screws at the back after removing the battery. removing the back plate is easy, ders a snap fitting on both sides. then remove the antenna [snap fitting] from the back plate. thats it. dn't remove the 2 screws on the PCB anymore, since all you need to do is change the backplate |
