Hi, Y2K.

I am an electronicer and programmer.I flashed a lot of phones. You think that i am a newbie.
But Thanks for interesting and posting information about flashes.I am new in Nokia flash section.I want to ask a question:
Must i include ID numbers to the Alias.id file ?
Also where can i get 5 VDC from computer ?
And finally program works , press F1 for read flash then select phone model,Start and End address and finally program gives an message
"Connect interface to Phone then ENTER (and Power on Phone".
Should phone be open or closed ? Which one is the first ? ENTER or Power On phone ? In Nokia 5110 should i use BTEMP ?
I took your time, i am sorry :-(

Best Regards...

Hi To All And Happy New Year

Y2k Sorry Do not take this wrong way, But i am also an electronics technician but it seems all our problems stem from lack of information, You say that pin 14 must have 5 volts why must it have 5 volts the chip will work with 2-7 volts or does the Vpp pin require 5 volts I assume Vpp is to trigger phone into flash mode is this true or can you explain further.

Regards To all
Charlie

Hi Nokia junkies ) (me too)

The flash memory has a power down pin that is
kept low by system restet during power up
phase of flash to make sure that the device
is in correct state <-read only. The power down pin utilized in the system sleep mode by
connecting the SystemRestet to the flash power down pin to minimize the flash power during sleep. The flash is HW protected against writes by a resistant, pull down on Vpp.
If you connect the Dejan flasher so the phone
get voltage and data transmission lines from
flashprommer. When flasher switches supply voltage to phone, the program execution starts from BOOT ROM and the MCU investigates in early-up sequence if programmer is connected.

So that means, if you build your own flaher and it works, don`t ask why ))

Happy new year

Toto

Hi Toto,

You wrote that "When flasher switches supply voltage to phone, the program execution starts from BOOT ROM and the MCU
investigates in early-up sequence if programmer is connected."
I measured Voltage At Pin-14 Of chip and it is about 3 VDC without running Flasher.com
After running Flasher program until it ends nothing has changed Voltage At pin-14.
And also where phone get voltage from Flasher ?
There are only MBUS,FBUS TX,FBUS RX and GND connections.
I assume we are talking about Nokia 5110.

Best Regards...

Talking

How to ground the 9 and 11 pin. The pin 11 isn't that the TX wire?? How is it possible to ground that. I read that Pin 9 and 11 should be free and must be grounded but by me it is TX. The Dejan scheme is pin 11 the TX, but on the right side of the scheme, it also refers to 13?? Whats wrong with mine???

regards

Pin 9 and 11 refers to the pins of 74CH14. And not the pins of DB25 LPT1 port of the pc..

Since 74CH14 is composed of 6 inverters (NOT GATES)in one package and 4 inverters are only in used.It is proper to ground the input pins of the unused inverters, in this case it is pin 9 and 11.

As a basic rule, don't leave an input pin of a gate floating whether it is used or not. Connect the unused inputs to either positive or negative line...

And also unused output pins must never connected to anything. Leave unused outputs floating..In this case the unused inverter output pins are 8 and 10..

Hi,
Like Dejan said it's a question of respect that the people will move the thing in their heads and to solve the problems by themselves.
He gave us something that cost a lot and the help can be given for complicated questions, not lessons in the basics of the electronics.
So it's visible that the chip 74HC14 is made by Fairchild and for few minutes the .pdf can be downloaded by their site. No need to say that everything is there.

Happy New Year to All People in here

Best Regards
