Angry Major problems with 3310

I have a second-hand Nokia 3310 handset which when it is switched on and/or while browsing through the menu, the whole handset just suddenly freezes up, nothing responds (ie keys, on/off button ect) then after a few minutes decides to switch itself off This happends everytime i want to use it! The only way i can reset the whole handset is by takin the battery out

From the last edit, this handset now seems to playing up even more on me! When any SIM-card is inserted into the handset, it seems to either display SIM card rejected or when typing in the pin to access the SIM, the handset seems to freeze up and only displays ok on the bottom while the rest of the screen remains blank

Is this hand-set or the software ****ed or what?

I also have a new handset which is just over 5 months old, but only seems to have a slight charging/handset problem
When it is left on charge, the handset/keypad light remains on/hang and the only way i can fix it is to switch the phone on then off while its charging. I also seem to find when the light remains on, it doesnt seem to charge the battery fully

Could anyone please explain what could be causing these problems to the handsets expecially the second-hand one and is there anyway these can be repairable?
