You must have :

1-Nokia flasher v1.0 by Dejan Kaljevic + tia files + f_loaders + ucables.com shell (download:gsmgods.net/free-nokia-e.htm)<br />2-Nokia flasher cable<br />3-NFREE 1.2 (download:nfree.gsmsearch.com)

Note : Nfree v1.2 is the best free calculator for flash files and other beta versions such as nfree 1.3b3 Alabaster not good)<br />4-Full MCU & PPM flash file for your phone<br />Note : This solution work only on new nokia phones ( 33xx,62xx,82xx,71xx,83xx,88xx)<br />Note : This solution tested on 8210

<br />Now you can start...

1-Read full backup (MCU+PPM+E2PROM) of your phone and save it to backup.out

2-Write new MCU & PPM to your phone ( you should not overwrite EEPROM )

3-Read phone full flash (MCU+PPM+E2PROM) and save it to full.out

4-Start NFREE 1.2 and open full.out

5-Go to "Changes" menu and click on "Correct Eeprom CRCs"

6-Go to "Changes" menu and click on "Correct MCU-Checksum"

7-Go to "Changes" menu and click on "Correct all PPM Checksums"

8-Save fixed file to fixed.fls

9-Write fixed.fls to phone

10-Reset phone to factory setting

11-Now your phone is working correctly by new mcu version...

i think putting the wrong mcu to the phone could make it dead and not even viper tool 1.2 could repair this........

anybody has the guts to test this?

As long you have back up 20000- 40000, it should be ok.

I bet it will nto work, i think i tested it before.

hahaha it doesnt work i tested it with my nokia 3310 good for me i backup the phone from 002-004 or else i would have a dead 3310

hi,<br />i tried this method with 3310 ver 4.06<br />i flashed the phone with new ppm from 330000, i used ppm cutter from ******** before flshing, i got CS on the phone then i used Nfree ver. 13A2 and the phone was dead couldn't turn it on anymore to set it to factory settings, i don't think that this is going to work, or maybe i do something wrong!<br />Regards<br />Meam

Some advice for using this solution:

-You must use NFREE v1.2 because it isn't beta version!!!<br />-At level(2) you must flash phone with MCU or PPM or MCU+PPM only (not EEPROM!)<br />-At level(3) you must read MCU+PPM+EEPROM

for example in nokia 8210 :<br />Level1)backup:00200000-00400000<br />Level2)write :00200000-003D0000<br />Level3)read :00200000-00400000<br />Level9)write :00200000-00400000

Hi all<br />- It methode can not work for Upgrade/Downgrade or change language. It's only repaire your fone if it's not power on or wrong MCU.<br /> + If your MCU different version with MCU in your fone (language and version ) so it's can't work or it's work but no network and reset after 20 second.<br /> + If the same version (MCU) and language (PPM) and EEPROM the same address (3D0000 or 3e0000) it will work correct.<br />- I have try on alots of Unit by this method.

Are you sure that your solution worked?!!! Yes, you can "CHANGE" mcu version and ppm package this way..But your phone will end up "resetting".

On the other hand, a tested cheapest way to change mcu and ppm is by using Dejan 1.0b and B-phreaks logger!!!
