nokia 3210 simm error - GSM-Forum

I just bought an used nokia 3210 from a guy here in sweden. When i got it home, I naturally inserted my simm card and turned the phone on. But then i got the message "simm card not accepted". So i went over to my friends place and borrowed he´s simm card that has a diffrent operator, but i´m still getting the same messages. No matter what i do, it just keeps repeating the same message.
So if u can, please help me out

I think your phone is simlock, if you have cable you can solve it.

what particular network in sweden

read it with an mbus cable + nokia tool to determine if its sim lock or corrupted

or...

if you don't have a cable, you can try this for checking the states of all the four locks.

try the following:

#pw+1234567890+1# for lock 1
#pw+1234567890+2# for lock 2
#pw+1234567890+3# for lock 3
#pw+1234567890+4# for lock 4

where #, p, and w can be produced by repeatedly pressing *.

If a lock is closed, it will give you a Code error message and reboots, else you get a SIM was not restricted message.

An expected result should usually have LOCK 1 closed and the rest open. If not, then chances are your phone EEPROM (SPLOCK Data] is corrupted.

First of all i want to thank u all for helping me. Have the phone at my work so i´ll try ur tips on monday. I´ll probably have to ask u some more questions, so this isn´t the last u have heard from me. But the operators i have tried here in sweden are comviq and telia. Telia being the main supplier of both mobile and stationary telephones. But as ace said, chances are that it´s my eeprom that´s corrupted. What can i then do to fix it?.

Hi Try!

I think that u have to flash the phone, cause I hade the same problem before on my 5110 and it was Comviq, it said the samething. So I tried to read it with an mbus cable + nokia tool to determine if its sim lock or corrupted, but it worked for 5 sec then I got the block back. So try to flash it, but u can always try with the nokia tool first.

By the way, if u want some good homepage here in Sweden to buy phones thing, like mbus cabel or dejan m.m plz mail me on: [email protected]

He has first to check the version if it is version v5.31, v5.36 or v6.00 then he has to flash the phone.
If he uses nokiatool on these three versions he will kill the phone (Contact Service) !!!

Ah..i see..suppose i have to connect my phone to the comp in order to be able to see what version it is?..And what program do i use to flash it?..

You can easily check what version it is even w/o the computer by:

pressing *#0000#

The version is the numbers following the letter "V".

Then if it's below ver 5.31, you can use the MBUS Data Cable.
