Member: 74669 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Nokia 3310 (NHM5) flashing You guys probably get asked this question about a millions times a week, but I just need some reassurance. I bought a datacable for my nokia 3310, it connects to the serial port and there is a switch for m or fbus. Now I am trying to flash my phone with new firmware, but I read everywhere I need a paralel cable for this, After some more research I found something in the readme of Dejan Flasher telling me you only need Mbus, Fbustx, fbusrx, and ground, all of which are present on my datacable. Is it really true I can not flash my phone with this datacable, and if so why not ? |

I have been looking at my cable, and I thought I might be able to make it a datacable + flash cable combi (like http://www.marktplaats.nl/foto.php3?...3Fzoek%3Dflash), I opened the block that attaches to the accu of the phone, and made a little schematic drawing of it, Do you guys know if it's possible to make a combination with this ? the big black line at the left is the cable to the COM-connector, en thingkie with M/F is de Mbus or Fbus switch. Could anyone tell me if it is possible to make a combi, and if so what would be the easiest way to go... |

Member: 47281 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 17 | Nope man. you can't. if you want to build data+flash, then you'll need max233 and 74hc14. then you must make a jumper which will either feed the max233 power supply and switch it as data cable or provide power to 74hc14 and turn cable to flasher. there are also various combined cable,s like the one from Dr bizar. I'm eager to mount it but i'm waiting for some components to arrive. . . |
