Nokia 3310 USB Data Cable

I bought a USB Data Cable for my Nokia 3310.
When i try to use programs such as LogoManager or Oxygen PhoneManager II they cannot connect to my phone via USB. I only get options for COM1 COM2 COM3 etc...

Do i need drivers of some sort? I didn't get nothing with the cable, just the cable itself.

If i do need drivers where can i download them?

Please Help

Thanks

Most of the cables that plug into USB ports are just standard serial cables with a USB converter attached. The standard bridge chip is a "Prolific PL-2303" - if you go to http://tech.prolific.com.tw and search for "PL-2303" you should be able to download the drivers for your OS.

You might have to find the device (probably under unknown devices in hardware manager) and tell it to reinstall the driver.

i got this data cable a few days ago but this was marked for 3350 (the connectors are same as 3310) but i didnt try it...i think it will work, there is a CD with this cable which contains drivers for USB..
then it may connect with logomanager...

Question Quick Question...

About the Nokia 3310/3330/3410 serial data cable. Now, I want to reflash my 3310. But, If this cable fits under the battery... Then the battery just piggybacks off of the cable? If so, Can I reflash my phone using this cable?

Thumbs up wellcome

why
there are lockers that lock the batt when you insert.
so check it well
to hold like 3310 batt in a phone
if no pasibble use your hand to hold it tight on it or put something thecnicaly to hold it for to be able to do the work
GOOD LUCK

new PC suite with USB support required to use DKU 5 cable

hey guys,
If u r facing problem with DKU-5 cable. Don't worry.
Just uninstall ur PC suite provided by Nokia
and install new PC suite from the DKU-5 drivers CD
The Pc suite on DKU-5 driver's CD is advanced.
Nokia's Pc suite 5.0.1 doesn't provide USB support
whereas new PC suite (5.8 for win98 & 6.4 for win XP )
supports USB feature
I hv tested it with my phone
