I think you can change it in the pda part but not sure about the phone bit.

When you open the pda is it in german?

Nokia 9120

Hi! thanks for your kind reply. Yes when I open its pda is also in German. It seems that I need the sevice tools (wintesla files) to flash it totally before I can use it. I have already got some files but I still need the Rae- 3dll's. I have make already a connector to communicate with the communicator but with out this files no luck. Thanks again.

Red face

Hi,

You can only get language-changes at a Nokia service point
and they will charge you for it.

So think twice if your willing to do so....

I'am sure when I was playing around with the phone (pda part) I found a way to change the language, had a look last night but I can't seem to find it

What if he was to format it and load the English software in the phone?

Nokia 9210

I have tried many times with the pda but I could not find this option. Yes what they do is they reflash the memory but I need the firmware for this. I was told that someone did locally but I cannot trace where.

The MCU+PPM files is what you need which I have but at the moment There is no way to flash them to the phone (me and dcavdp have been trying) the PPM pack is for the phone not the PDA part so if you can live with the phone part being in german I think you can do what I said and format the memory part of the phone (not the card but you will have to do this) and have the PDA bit in english as this should be on the disk that comes with the phone. If you have not got the disk mail me your address and I wll copy my one and send to you, at the end of the day this will be done when it goes to the service center to be done. I have found the language changer but it's for the default language when you install program. Check a few post back and you will found the link for the files (started by me) and download them (big file). Post back if you are going to do this.

It is no problem for me at least for now I can live with the telephone being in German. Is it possible (I hope that I am not asking too much) to send me the procedure of how to change the pda please? (at least there would be less German words to learn hehe) I do have the cable and the cd which was supplied with the communicator. Thanks for all your help.

Before just check to see if you have english on the disk, when that is done and you have english, remove the battery and open PDA part, replace the battery and press Ctrl+Shift+f (f key last), the phone should be formatting now look on the disk for the sis file called All_nokia_9210_data.sis (should be in the folder called Preinstalled in device) if you can't find it mail me and I will send, you will need to have the pc suite installed on you pc to install all the programs again. I have not done this on a 9210 but have formatted a 9000 and put it back again.

Well good luck and make sure you have all the right file's before you start and mail back when done or need help.

In the extras part press the top one "control panel" and find install/remove (looks like a floppy disk) enter the last tab is preferences 2 one down from that is default install language see if you can change that to english and try again.

I take it this is all in the PDA part, so when you get a text or sms it's still in german, well I did try for you.
