Nokia 3210 v5.36 (amusing &frustrating) - GSM-Forum

I have a Nokia 3210 v5.36. The EEPROM was damaged so I bought a new one, built a programmer, found a .bin file on the web, programmed the chip, stuck it on the phone and felt great joy when it let me charge the battery & switch it on. The problem now is the phone is in German and will not accept any British sim cards "SIM-KARTE nicht angenommen".The pin5 trick also does not work. Can anybody tell me how to fix this phone? Do I need an unlocked English .bin file? Can somebody send me one please? Do I need to do anything else?

Please reply in English.

you have to use the same memory map like it was original, try to read old memory

Hi Marc,

Just to save your time and effort - the only way to fix this phone if you can read the contents of the original eeprom.
If you can't, there is no cheap way to fix this phone( I mean cheaper than the cost of the phone )
