Post SMS Delivery Reports...

what's this feature in the phone? when you send a sms it just puts a info message in the inbox saying that a message is pending to whoever and nothing else... are you supposed to recieve another message/report saying the message has been sent and the recipient has recieved it?

Also, if this is not working you can call your provider's customer support to tell you the code to put in front of each SMS to get delivery report (IE in Croatia "*R*" - used to be Cronet and "!" used to work for VIPnet).....

correct me if i'm wrong... the way I see it is when you send your sms, the sms center receives it and sends you the confirmation with the status that your message is pending on the sms center and not yet sent to the recipient. but when it sucessfully sends the message, the sms center no longer sends you the status of the message that it was sucessfully sent, nor the sending failed in case your message was blocked by the recipient's network.

most probably be a bug on the system.

If you are with SP Genie then I get the porblem as well. I should follow up with either a recieved or failed report.

Yeah, that's what happens, I only get the pending message, nothing else... So if it is working correctly you are supposed to recieve another message telling you either the message has been sent successfully or has sending failed?

So is this an operator dependant feature, or do all operators support it?

Good question!!! I had a BTcellnet contract and the reports worked fine. However when I changed to Genie (which is BTcellnet) the reports stopped working!!! Nothing else change (same phone etc.) Gonna contact them and see what they say, i'll get back to you with their reply (if I get one!)

Most probably, it's a network dependent feature as in the case above (BTCellnet and Genie). Otherwise, the system they're using has a bug or have the feature turned off (in the case of reports when SMS sending is successful or not).

Cheers...
