if you want to be able to copy them from your phone to your computer and then back to your phone again at a later date then you must use oxygen phone manager.

you will have to buy it as the cracked versions of this soft are quite old versions. about 30 dollars

regards

Dan

There's also a program called Cellular Essentials, works quite well and allows full management of the phone.

i have software for this...

i've written a program to do the thing you mentioned in the topic.

the only bad thing is that it's in hungarian language, but if you _really_ want i can modify it to be in english.

it's free of course, and you can

-read you inbox and outbox
-save an individual sms message or all sms messages
-delete an sms message
-send an sms message

it supports 8210 via FBUS or via IRDA

so if you _really_ need it i can add english language to the program.

Mygnokii2

Thanks Dave.W

I'm working now on mygnokii2. It will be much better and will be available in May. I will need many beta testers :-))). If you want to be notified about it, subscribe my email list connected with mygnokii(2).

I need also people/programmers with DCT4 phones - I want to add support for it, although I don't have such phone now.

Thumbs up Good Work Marcinw!

@marcinw: I've been an avid user of your program since i first knew of it. I am excited to learn of mygnokii 2. If you can remember before we have discussed about backing up saved SMS back to the simcard? Well, yes mygnokii indeed is able to save archived SMS back to simcard but the date of the SMS changes! I hope you can fix this and make the date identical to the date indicated in the original SMS data
Also I would like to inform you that sometimes my archived SMS are somwhat "refreshed"by the program and I could not keep a record of older messages because they get deleted.
I know all this should be in the beta feedback but I feel these are 2 things that need to be brought to your attention right away.
Thanks for the FREE program! Looking forward to a better GUI. I hope the SMS Inbox does not refresh everytime I delete a message!
And oh yes, pls sign me up for beta testing [email protected]

Subscribtion

Well, I don't subscribe/unsubscribe people from my list. If you want to make it, do it. Info and link is on my www (main page).

I think, it's too early to speak about GUI (of course, when nodoby outside me will be interested in mygnokii2). The most important for me is to have clear and powerful engine. I should have 100% working (100% of mygnokii functions) command line version in May (there will be binary available then - now only source). Later I will think about GUI. Of course, because of better engine it will be better than mygnokii GUI. Much better.

It can be done faster, when more people will want to share their source. Knok is example, that it's possible...
