Member: 3616 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | SOLVED THE FREEZE PROBLEM IN 8850!!!!! Please post below your observations.. fatal 'freeze' bug...eventually they just lock up (stop responding to any keypresses) and ONLY way to fix it is to ermove the battery and put it on again... I took few Nokias and made some testing...it seems that it happens ONLY after an IrDa connection with a PC (not with another phone, or at least noth after sending business cards via IR to 6210 7110 and 2 player snake with 6150 and 8210)... Now, the solution is: WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR ADTA CONNECTION, LOGOSENDING OR WHATEVER YOU DID CONNECTED TO PC TURN OF YOUR N8850, REMOVE THE BATTERY AND PUT IT BACK AGAIN....... So far I found bug not comming anymore if I reset the phone(s) that way.. If you had an IR connection phone will freeze (I noticed) in 30% of cases in some time later that day..... Also, I tried NOT TO REMOVE THE BATTERY, and problem was the same..... This is just a start, please post below your replies and observations, maybe I slipped something out... Also, If you have 8850 that has never seen IR and still freezes, let us know the SW versions, and one morre important thing...does it have ALS enabled (Line 2, alternate line) Thank you! -- -- ____________jsp_m http://www.zamir.net/~josipm/Nokia/nokiafaq/ |

Member: 26 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | I can tell you that i came across this problem before with: 5.26, and 5.27. on 8850 and the freezing started even before I enabled Ir. on handset. So not any more for me the way to get around wich it worked for me was change language on phone to a diferent one from the original country you are on, then switch phone of and back on change the language back to your default one and that's it, no more freezing for me. Tested on 5.26 soft, 5.27 soft 8850 Gold Edition 5.27. |
