Exclamation Strange Contact Service problem with Nokia 3310! Take a look...

Hi!

I have a Nokia 3310 with a strange problem. When I power it on, it says "Insert SIM-card" for a second or two - then it turns off and on again, now the display just says "Contact Service". I can't turn it off - need to take the battery out.

I haven't seen a Contact Service-problem like this before, what's wrong? I've tried to flash it several times, nothing works.

It's a 3310 4.18 - any ideas?

(Where do I find full flashes for 4.18 with danish/scandinavian (norway, sweden, finland) language?

to kenwood:

I didn't understand a single word Try to use some commas in your sentence. What do you want to say? (I tried, but I really don't understand it).

From my own experience, there are usually two types of problems that causes this (Insert SIM card -> Contact Service).

First Case : Your PPM package is corrupt. Try to get a good backup (same version and ppm package) from another source and write it to your phone (00200000-003D0000, thats, MCU + PPM excluding your eeprom).

Second Case : Second checksum of your eeprom is corrupt. Use Viper's Tool to fix this problem.

And as a tip, in order for you to zero in your problem faster, use Wintesla. Run self tests and based on the results, you'll find out which is causing which.

aCe

Which version do you have?

Do you have the cracked version or not? Unless you have all the hardware/jigs required you'll just have to settle for the cracked ones.

Version 6.43 is the latest i guess and i dunno if somebody has made a good crack for this).

As far as I am concerned, i'm using the patched versions coz man, i can't afford the whole stuff. It's functionalities are limited without the necessary jigs but it can still can dish out some necessary info usefull for fixing/diagnosing erroneous units.

So far, i've stuck to v5.31 coz this is the one that i have found "most working" for me.
6.10 is working too but somehow i like my older copy better.

I think these are the usual steps that you have to follow.

1. Install Wintesla.
2. Overwrite the Dongle drivers in the windows\system directory with the cracked copy of the drivers. You need this so that we could bypass the dongle checking.
3. Overwrite Wintesla.exe with the cracked copy.
4. Sometimes the problem with these cracked versions is that either they are badly cracked or poorly documented. Try to see if they included a login name in your copy coz the ones i have found working are the ones that comes with a login name.
5. Run Wintesla, change the settings into which cable/port you would use.
6. Re-run wintesla. This time, do it with your phone connected to your cable. Your soft should detect your phone and load the appropriate drivers and do a few tests to your phone. If not, try to do a manual selection instead.

[Optional]
6. Replace the unpatched dll's for the different phone models (i.e. nse13k.dll for 51/61xx) with the patched ones, that is if the ones provided aren't patched.
7. You also need to download different dll's for different models in order for wintesla to correctly detect your phone type. I have some on my page. (for Ahmed, i'm not sure if the ones i have are cracked but since they work fine for me, so i guess they are).

Well, i guess that'll be all for now. Just contact me if you need any help.

Regards,

aCe
