Member: 8030 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Upgrade 7110 from 4.88 to 5.01 BUT i seem to recall seeing some posts somewhere about there being a problem about the 5.01 mcu+ppm overrunning into the eeprom area by a couple of bytes and the updates therefore not working. Anyone got any idea if this is true - or do i just need to flash the 5.01mcu+ppm into my 4.88 phone and then do a FAID calc as normal? Regards, Northernbloke |

Member: 8030 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | wow - was just about to go flash it when i saw a post on here about logging and it says the flash i have downloaded from brads site (v5.01) is already partially unlocked therefore logs don't work. <br />Can anybody confirm this and if it's true where else can i get a v5.01 mcu that isn't partially unlocked??? Member: 8030 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Well - I tried and failed to upgrade it. mcu + ppm D flashed ok but when phone is restarted it gets past insert pin and stays on the startup screen for about 20 seconds before switching off (not like normally happens with phone resetting when FAID calc needs doing - it goes off and stays off) managed to log it using B-phreaks new logger (at about the 10th attempt - got log calculated and updated the phone but still not working. Flashed my backup and all ok back to the drawing board methinks. Regards, Steve H - cheers again for the mcufile mudboy - i'm sure that it's ok and not the cause of the problems - got to be something else |

Member: 3085 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Ive had two of these 4.88 swines in and I too cannot update the mcu+ppm without the same problems of hanging and resetting, even stranger than this if I try to read any 5.01 to make a working mcu its always reported as bad mcu and obviously is unusable but the phones with 5.01 work without fault. Member: 8030 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | what are you using to read the phones and create the mcu CW. I get this message constantly on Rolis 477 and 5.14 on 6210s and 7110's when i read the full flash. I do use it for writing though cos it's much quicker than KnoK. I use KnoK for making full backups now never had a duff read yet on it. Have u tried just reading the MCU or PPM or EEprom area seperately using the relevant addresses instead of using a full read and letting the sw split it up for you? |

Member: 3085 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hi NORTHERNBLOKE Yes you are correct I use rollis 4.77 and nokiaflasher tool 1.1 by our freind Cyberdog and both produde error in mcu so i will try this Knok program but where do I find it looked everywhere but no joy. I also have been told that after mcu+ppm upgrade to 5.01 you must reset like MAK_US1977 says with wintesla or 6210 security code reset ver 1.2. I will give it a go later and post result.
