Post very important questions!! please read

hi all
First of all the 1 question!:-)
i've a nokia 6150 with external eeprom, if i flash a new mcu+ppm (a full flash because the eeprom is ext) with t9 without changing the
eeprom and then i calculate the faid (i don't know how) with a log the phone will work??
i ask this because my phone has ext eeprom and i don't know if the logger can write the new faid with the mbus cable (because the faid is stored into the eeprom...or not?).
then...the eeprom is the same in each software version of the same phone? for example if i have mcu 4.77 also the eeprom is 4.77 or it's remains the same with each mcu sw? (i speak of original phones).
if not why the phone flashed with a new version but with the original eeprom works after the faid calc??
Bye all and tnx

if you flash mcu+ppm exactly the same version, no faid calc needed and phone will work ok (*maybe* need sw reset). if you flash mcu+ppm different version, faid calc needed through log etc. use mbus to upload calc'd log. log sw and phone sw do all handling of faid and change info in eeprom, don't worry about how it does it - just know that it does!
regards
outerc0re

Sure thing logger(or dejan dongle or some other hard or soft faid calculator)will update eeprom via m2bus interface,it`s the only way to do it.It doesn`t matter if it`s internal(in flash emulated) or external(like in 6150) eeprom,it will work don`t worry. In some cases when you upgrade/downgrade your phone with mcu+ppm(sure you cannot do it flashing phone with ppm package only)you might experience your phone to behave strange(reseting,no picture messages, etc),it`s nothing serious,it`s just because an eeprom incompatibility with a new mcu/ppm package(for example it happend to me when I upgraded 3310v419 to v445).The way to solve it is to connect phone(via m2bus,of course) to NOKIA Tool soft and check
"UI settings" and "SCM" in Special Factory Set(do not check anything else) and than press "Apply SFS" button.Turn phone off and on and everything work perfectly(some old pictures and logos will be erased).Do not try to calculate faid if phone is unlocked with partial flash-it won`t work, first reflash it with original mcu and unlock it after eeprom update.
