What does it mean


if the phone says 'contact service'?

It means that the phone is unable to compleet the normally
satrting-up routein because of internal problem ( SoftWare
or HardWare). That problem needs U to contact a service
center to fix it.

there are different kinds of CS

phone starts normal - after the Insert SIM Card Message it restarts and shows Contact Service:

Software Problem (98%)

phone shows Contact Service after Switching on (without real Booting):

Hardware error

software errors can be faulty checksums, damaged EEprom..

hardware errors @ dct3 are mostly Cobba and sometimes CCont related (in case of 3310, 3330 and 3410: mostly COBBA and in case of 3210 mostly CCont)

@ dct4 are in most cases software errors the reason for the CS

( ...5 times wrong entered unlock codes )

The best way for DCT3 phones is( eeprom tool by B-Phreaks ) ,this software can test the phone and tell exactly the reason for contact service.
