It means the phone has been flashed unlocked (the old way) not unlocked by eeprom tools or nk-calc the restore MSID just flash the same MCU to the phone and unlock with one of the two programs.

I have seen a 3310 that MSID was like 00000000010101011 but phone worked OK!

Why? Phone worked because flash and COBBA were both taken from another phone and put on this phone. Therefore, phone worked well. I just wrote another flash & eeprom, calculated all data and phone again worked!

So, I mean there are no exact symptoms nor exact solutions for these symptoms!

Best Regards

ok looks like some ppl here r very confused

When u get ur MSID all messed up that means ur phone eeprom is damaged.

So what to do??

Simple:

* get a good virgin eeprom flash file (about 194K size and can use any flasher program start adress is 003D....)
* flash the phone with that flash
* use Rolis Nokia Tool 1.8 (its the easiest to use) and correct IMEI which must be same as it is under phone's battery
* update FAID (also use Rolis Nokia Tool 1,8)

By now ur phone must be working 100%

U can also AFTER, flash phone with new (any version) mcu+ppm flash followed by faid calc once more.

A full factory reset after will be fine.

regards

@bcool:
No no!
Doesn't mean your EEPROM is F*cked!

@all:

This type of MSID, as was said before by Lonegunman means the phone has been partial flashed - whether to unlock it or just play a little with flash data

You dont need to fix it - It'll work 100% (unless your partial flash fun has gone wrong) as the MSID is only an internal value. But if you take it to an NMP service centre it will become immediatly apparent the phone has been tampered with!

To fix it you should flash a full MCU/PPM flash then unlock it with newer tools such as Jordik tool (http://www.cellularbase.co.uk/ for tutorial)

In an ideal world we'd flash a full backup from a working phone then change the imei back to original but because of the very ignorant and narrowminded politicians in many countries (who believe it prokes attacks, GBH and theft) it's illegal and therefor not an option for many...
