Cool

eeprom tools works in XP. i tried it twice. the first one it ended up saying "sim data could not be updated" or something... but did the job anyway. second time, worked like a charm!

anyway i always recomend 1 instalation of good (i can't belive i just said this), ol' (very) but reliable w98... even if it's on a 2nd disk. that will always work for sure.

Oh, and one other thing... i use some little application that's called "User Port", that way i can use almost all programs under XP...

Here is a little description about the program:
(Taken from http://www.embeddedtronics.com/design&ideas.html)

"UserPort is a simple kernel mode driver for Windows NT/2000/XP that will give programs access to I/O ports. This makes it possible to access the hardware I/O ports directly under Windows NT/2000/XP just like 95/98/ME. We do not support Minidaq running on Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems but with the UserPort kernel driver it is now easy to use it on an NT/2000/XP system. Once the UserPort driver is loaded, it becomes transparent and simple to use"

You can get it right here

Cheers.

Thumbs up

yeah.. i saw lots of people saying userport worked for them. but i saw about the same amount of people saying it didn't work. funny... i'm on the 2nd group. never got it working for me, and i tried in 3 or 4 diferent pc's... i think i followed the instructions right... but it just didn't work.
whatever.

not a problem though. i always have win98 on the other disk.

other people just have to try and see if it works for them.
