I think phone were stolen from Orange.

I had same problem with a stolen 6510, if was with a card from original network, he only let me send or receive messages, no calls. With other networks, worked fine. But heard that some phones donīt even accept cards from original network.
I solved the problem by flashing the phone with upper version.

The other networks may catch up with it in a few weeks... or months :)

But it probably will.... Sell it quick :)

Much easier soloution, contact the company you purchased the handset from and demand a full refund, the authorities take a dim view of dealing in stolen goods, they won't wish you too contact the police.

Why pass the problem to someone else, who may then take action against you! You would also be guilty of dealing in stolen goods.

Guys you're getting carried away now,

These are not one or two stolen phones were talking about but a tidy number of ex-company handsets.

Don't know where this came up, but even more reson too return them for a refund.

This topic is like asking the government if they lied about going to war in Iraq, you seem to get every answer or argument apart from the original question asked. :-)

Stock is from auction, you can't return it even if you wanted to.

I've got my answer now, thanks guys! I will leave this topic now.
