Case 1: UEM chip is ok and contains valid IMEI, then it is needed to compute the IMEI data for flash – Click read data, send the file to GriffinTeam and GriffinTeam will send you RPL file for IMEI data in flash, send the received RPL file to phone using WriteData. After that you phone should be working again. And the good news is that you have repaired the phone without changing the IMEI ( which is illegal in many countries).

(when griffin reads ASK file it will show the IMEI that it read from UEM, before you send the file for computation check if the shown imei is 14 digits. Only in this case we will be able to compute correct RPL)

Case 2: UEM chip is damaged so you need to replace it. In this case the phone will have ?????????????? for IMEI because UEM is not initialized and contains 000000000000000 for IMEI. You have two possibilities in this case. Write any RPL to phone and the phone will contain the IMEI that was in RPL file. But this will cause the phone to have different IMEI then the one that it originally had. As mentioned above this is illegal in many countries and it is risky to repair the phone in this way because you can end up in jail.

If you wish to initialize the UEM with the specific IMEI, enter the IMEI you wish us to compute in the IMEI/ESN field and read log from the phone ( note: if you correctly replaced the UEM with new empty one, the IMEI read from UEM will be 000000000000000, only in this case the IMEI we compute will be correctly stored in UEM when you send the RPL file to phone).

NOTE 1: The computation of RPL file will not be FREE. You will need to pay for the computation, but this is only because nice things cost money. Since griffin clients are too much we will not be able to process directly the ASK files from clients. Tomorrow we will publish list of resellers that will handle the processing for different countries. If you are interested in this service please refer to them for price inquiries and where to send the files.

The price for computing RPL for Flash only(case 1) and for Flash+UEM(case 2) will be different.

Note 2: Reading the IMEI from UEM is currently supported for DCT4 ( asic 2) phones. Support for asic5 and asci7 is to be released later.

i sea this in web griffin team
