Member: 3430 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | confused about fia files and cheap DCT4 flasher I have been using the cheap DCT4 flasher for some time without problems but occasionly I needed to update a specific fia file. I have read the previous posts regarding people having problems finding fia's for the newer 8310/6510's and 6310i's . The end soloution to this problem was to download a WHOLE folder of fia files depending on which model you needed to flash. therefore, from my understanding it is required to change the entire Fia folder depending on what phone you are flashing! (right or wrong) I have a few questions I hope some experienced members can answer. Is it possible to have a SINGLE Fia folder which contains ALL the latest fia files so that you can flash 8310 5.80 and 6310i 5.22 as well as all older software versions? Or do you need to replace the entire Fia folder and its contents every time you flash one of these newer phones? Is only one fia file accessed each time you flash a phone? (On the assumption the fia file used is dependent on the flash type/ID) I require this info as I am writing a beginer/intermediate tutorial for flashing with cheap DCT4 flasher. I would like to include a download which includes just a single Fia folder and a copy of DCT4v30.exe. I want to keep it simple and have just ONE folder of fia's which i can keep up to date when newer fia's are released, Is this possible? Or must the user overwrite the entire Fia folder depending on the handset/ software version. I hope someone can help, and thank you for reading Kind regards Dan |

Member: 11416 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 6 | Well done, thank you for your work ! To admins / mods: What about a section "Tutorials" here on GSM Forum or at least a "Tutorial-Links"-page ? Would help a lot to answer standard questions. (If there already exists such a section/page forgive me: I haven't found it yet.) Just an idea ... |
