DCT4 Flasher Help :-( - GSM-Forum

Hi..

I have a china flasher.. not sure what chip is inside it. Its much longer than a pic 16f876 maybe atmel.. not sure cos the seller erased the surface. ( tit! )

Any how... i have used this flasher a few times and never had any problems with it.. however just to day as i was about to flash a mates phone @uni .. the s/w ( WinDCT 4 v2.0 ) keeps saying Error-Connect dongle. ( + various other flashers )

Does this mean that my dongle is Knackered? I have opened it to take a look to see if any thing is out of place. Dont know the first thing about electronics but im handy with a soldering iron ( chip ps2's as a hobbyist ) but nothing.

There is a resistor running across a pin from the db-9 connector to a point on the board where it meets the +ve coonection from the usb. Could this be dead? And if so which resistor is it?

And finnally where is ground so that i can check it.

Try to find schematic for your flasher on internet. On schematic you can find all things what interested you.

With standard multimeter check your power from USB it must to be +5V and check the resistor. But first you must check your connection with PC.

Is your LPT ok? Is good configuration of LPT port? Do you use
LPT cable?

In china flasher I find only PIC16F876 it can be in SMD or DIL package. On internet find datasheets for that PIC and you will see where is Vcc, GND, OSC, input and output ad******* check this with connection of your IC and then you can be sure what is in your china flasher.
