st96001414, yes, that seems to be the right method (if you're talking about the PhoneFTD.********.com link which came first in my Google results): you will need the latest firmware for 6230i, a DCT4 flashing hardware/software suite (JAF, UFS, whatever) and a HEX editor to patch two bytes in the MCU file. Then you will have to flash the patched firmware. Your USB cable is of no use, unfortunately – you will need a flashing adapter that comes with the flasher hardware.

Thanks for the feedback...it's really appreciated. So I think I have a problem unless I purchase the JAF suite or similar like you suggest. I work all over the UK, do you (or anyone else) know of any reputable mobile repair retailers that may offer this as a service?

As an alternative, is there an alternative phone that I should maybe be considering picking up on maybe ebay or similar that has an easier way to unlcock the FTD/Netmonitor menu?

Once again...thx

st96001414, I'm living quite far from UK, so no idea. Just look around for someone who still has the old equipment to flash a DCT4 phone. I can peek into my old files – should still have the 6230i firmware somewhere – and patch the MCU accordingly, then upload it to a file hosting service.

As for alternative routes, back in the day there was an installable app for newer S60 phones (like Nokia 6120 Classic or my good old N73), but AFAIK it required root access to the phone or self-signing procedure – can't tell you more as it's been, like, ten years ago.

KPbICMAH - your help and advice is appreciated, it really is.

If you could have a find of an old firmware version this would be perfect! BTW, I did stumble across some 6230i firmware via a google search "mtronicscell 6230i" (I still cannot post links btw).

Thanks again for your assitance
