How to make a model 1661-2b (RH-121) work outside North America?

I would like to try flashing this phone with RH-122 firmware in an attempt to allow it to work on 900/1800 bands. Currently, as an RH-121, it will only operate on 850/1900.

My questions:
1) How do I flash this phone with RH-122 firmware? I am starting from scratch - I have never flashed a phone and I don't even know anyone who has. Step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

2) Does anyone know if flashing a RH-121 phone with RH-122 firware will allow it to operate on 900/1800?

Hardware modification is needed as well, flashing allon is not going to get you there. No offense but if you never flashed a phone before don't try to change thee bands.

I don't plan to attempt any hardware modifications. However, I'd still like to try the flash.

I read on a post somewhere that somebody tried this with the result that the phone no longer worked on 850/1900 bands. So I'm thinking that perhaps the phone was converted to 900/1800.

Can you give me instructions on how to perform a flash, or direct me to a website that gives instructions?
