Does anyone know if the nokia 3100 has 8 track polyphonic ringtones, because i set it to 8 track on PSMPLAY and on my phone played good, then i set it to 4 track and it sounded way different, yet on some songs the phone struggles to keep playing but that could be because they are 16 track ringtones.

i have a 3100 too, but i can't seem to find any proper ringtones for my phone, the ones that flash / vibra not just sound. i haven't even got the original ones! can anyone help me out even if it's just the originals, i'm not sure what format they are. thanks

also i've noticed that some 3100's have a option in display settings to change how the menu is displayed, (big icons, or 9 or so little icons) mine doesn't. is it locked out somehow? can i unlocked it? thanks again

From my recent tests, the nokia 3100 is a

8 Track polyphonic phone

the simple test is playing the great escape on psmplay in 4 track and 8, you can hear the drum beat with 8 but not with 4. There you go, i doubt you wanted to know, but you do now

Listen for yourself

Psm Play download (300kb)
The great escape midi (15kb)

Once downloaded, go to setup/create preview/4 track, then do the same but for 8 track, notice the difference. The phone has constant drum beat.

Enjoy, there's a good program there too for cutting down midis for your phones.

Mine cannot change the way the menu is layed it, it does have all original ringtones, wallpapers, and games, therefor yours should too, if you're based in the united kingdom and have bought it on any of the uk networks, all original settings should be on it, any other countries i'm afraid i don't actually know, but from the post i just did, it has a program, if you find any songs you like, make them 8 track and send to your phone to enjoy, try not to get it with too much bass as the nokia 3100 doesn't like it and produces a sort of ermm bad sound lol

Enjoy, if you wan't any original tones i can get them from my phone and put on my website, infact i'll do that into a zip file for you

that option is only available for the North American version of the 3100

My nokia 3100 has only 4 tracks for polyphonic ringtones, and I've been testing on that for about a month. It's just like any other nokia phone of the same family, it can play 4 notes a time. 8 track MIDI files can work good as far as they are SP-MIDI.

Hi Looz there is a tool called Jadwizard (a standalone 400kb app), it creates the .jad file from a valid .jar app. It works quite good. For games I can't help sorry. Cheers
