Nokia 8310 New DCT3 & DCT4 2 in 1 Clip - GSM-Forum

This clip claims to reset the security code to factory setting which is 12345.

So I went and got an Nokia 8310 v3.07 and changed the security code to 54321 to see if the clip will reset it back to 12345.

Then I followed the instructions which were to connect the clip to the 8310 and to the box and press the red button for reset.

I put a different sim inside the phone and it asked me to enter the security code. So I first tried the 12345 and wrong code then I tried 54321 and again wrong code???

The same thing happens with the original sim, I still get wrong code!

The clip has changed the code alright but what has it changed it to???

A bit of a brain teaser this one (any tool to read the code from the 8310)?

you often need to reset the phone (default device/factory rest etc. available on most decent service boxes) to reset security code.

it's definitely reset/changed the code. Just not to what the documentation says it should be which is 12345

maybe to many wrong attempts, try puting sim in, wait for security code message, leave it on for about 2 hour, then try code.

Try with FBUS_Maestro and reset to 12345 using cable

you normally have about 5 tries to enter the correct security code...after that it wont even accept the original one.

I have downloaded Maestro and will give it a go as soon as I get my machine formatted next week (serial port problems)

I did not know the security code gets locked out after 5 tries, are you sure?
