Number of attempts to unlock 6610i by IMEi code surpassed

Hi all,

After the 5 unsuccessful attempts to unlock my "mother-in-law" N6610i, what can I do with the phone, to avoid increase her damaged image she has from me. (We live in a small town. No possible unlocking shop nearby where to ask for help.)

(Don't tell me to buy another new and better gadget, please.)

Thanks.

Thanks for your kindness, kie999. But...

...just a slight problem: what do I have to do with the master code to reset the counter?

Thanks to everyone.

As I said previously, I missed the first five opportunities and and I cannot unlock it.
When I use a different SIM from another network, I receive the message: "restricted phone". If I use its own network SIM, the message is: "Impossible undo restriction".

Thanks again.

I think I have that same problem with my Nokia 6133. I took it to several cell phone shops to try and unlock. All of them said the same thing: "we cant get it done" I waited and e-mail t-mobile and got the unlock code from them. When I insert a SIM card from a different carrier it says "phone restricted" please enter unlock code. When I insert the t-mobile sim and enter the unlock code it says "cannot undo restriction." Have I passed my number of attempts to unlock my phone, if so...what can be done?

Help Please.

Hi JB85,

think positive ! You told, if you inserted a simcard from a different (!) carrier you were asked to "enter the unlock code". Why didn`t you enter the code in this moment ? Try it again in this way ! It's impossible to enter the unlock code with the inserted simcard of the carrier the phone is locked to.
