| Why can't somone just make an idiot-proof sollution, like the old 6110 imei- change. I own a Nokia 8310 and I want to change imei!!! I know my way around prgramming, but this is not my field and therefor over my league. Someone in this world must have the answere and the interest of finding a good solution, right? This is the best phone-forum i've seen, so I believe the knowledge is in here somewhere. Any thoughts? |

| We can't give up, though. Somehow we can find a tricky solution, but we need to start talk about it. I'm reading, testing and learning, and if I can I will contribute, but I'm not there yet. (Not even close) SO, ANYONE;;; IDEAS? |

| once again guys to combat theft and "idiot proof" soft being made nokia "and a few other mf's have decided to store the phone's imei on an OTP "one time programmable" ic. this ic can be read but not written to. as said in hundreds upon hundreds of posts is the only way "at present" is to replace the uem with a blank ic and program it with an imei no. who knows what dejan may come up with, but we ain't gonna find that out untill dct4 phones are history |

| There are sideway, there are shortcuts. Lets just find them! Who care if the UEM is OTP. If it can't be reprogramed, then it can't!!! Find another way. I try to focus on decrypting and understand how to change the firmware so it doesn't check the uem. Simple as that!!! The problem is to decrypt or just figure out how to reprogram the firmware. So we need a really good assembler guy to help. And many people in this forum talks about what can't be done, rather than finding solutions or at least give any suggestions. |

Or have we all given up and accepted that Nokia has won and there is no other way to change IMEI other than changing the chip? Also why would dejan wait tilll DCT4`s are history to release anything ? ? Pls post any updates or info as i have had an 8310 wating on my shelf for 7 months now ! |

Last post was at 29/05/2003. Jul2002 itīs user registration date. Like your is Jun 2003. About IMEI changing. Some guys come out with a way of changing IMEI just buy sw. But besides astronomic price, thereīs no proofs tha this really work. (and I too doubt that works) @concom About bypass UEM process, can work, but u still need IMEI later, so no sucess. I think only way, is to write IMEI somewhere else and redirect UEM process to there. But this might be very difficult to achive. (and not sure if possible). Anyway, this need months of work... And who has such time to waste?... | |
