3310 Network Plays

Hello Friends,

I receive many pcs of 3310, 8210 which have network for a few seconds, then loose network, then again catch network in 5 seconds!

I have checked the vbatt to PA, heated the small components like filters, couplers, heated the antenna switch, checked the path oh the components in RF section according to schematic, all ok, but still problem stays.

Now I want to know, if there IS network and it comes and goes, can it be a problem of the antenna switch? because as I understand if there is network, the antenna switch is ok...

Also, some posts mention attaching a false antenna to the pcb. How to do that, in 3310 8210?

PS: I would like to contribute that in network problems, FIRST check VBATT to pf, it can solve the problem many times.

Also, in 3310, if you have a dead set, check resistor r224 it should have 10 kohms. If not, change it.

This is my small ( very ) small contribution to GSMHOSTING forum....

I have started repairing handsets with the help of the people on this forum, and have benifitted a lot from here!

Keep it up!

Never change without check! This is not proffesional.
The first thing what we can see in DCT3 (also in DCt4) is that we at Receive problems first check MANUAL NETWORK search.
Post the result here and we can say whats you do for the result.

@raja3333

This fault is most properly due to 32 KHZ Crystal or 26 MHZ reference osillator being defunct !

I would take a scope or counter to measure those 2

Regards

@Cyberoptik

Hi, I have checked manual search, it shoiws all networks, 900 and 1800, it can also select the network manually as well as on automatic, but the network plays, meaning it suddenly disappears for 5 seconds and then comes back

@GsmCoolhawk

I will have to buy an oscilloscope to check this...
Can you suggest the minimum configuration oscilloscope required?
Do computer based oscilloscopes work for mobile testing purposes?

Also, is it very expensive?
I am located in India, and I doubt that oscilloscopes will be easily available ....

Reagrds,
