Question 33XX RAM work

Hi all,

I've faced lot of problem about reballing Flash / RAM ICs in Nokia 33xx phones. "RAM BAD" error message while Flashing I used to rehot or resolder these ICs.

In many cases reballing of Flash IC has been successful BUT reballing or even heating of RAM IC has FAILED IN ALL CASES.

I would like to know PROPER workmanship on this RAM IC. What precautions or care shoul I take.

regards

@ Mr. DMD
Thanks for reply. But I tried to Flash with Rollis, Knok95, Geo etc. In all software the error message is "RAM bad".

@ Mr. azampk
Thanks for reply and picture. I measured the component is OK. I think it is an inductor and while power ON it will have @1.9 volts. do you refer any other check ?

**********

Recently 2 boards have this problem. Both are taking Flash but not power ON. ( one is 3350 and other is 3315 ). What should I do ?.

@ Mr. azampk

I mean, I measured the component as per your suggestion and found in OK condition. As per my knowledge it is an inductor and it provides voltages for Flash/RAM ICs.

To all

I would like to know working on Flash / RAM ICs. It may require some special techniques which I may not have. Thanks in advance.

regards.
