5500 Sport still not working after replacing LCD

Hi I'm fixing a 5500 which had a cracked LCD.
I've replaced the LCD, but it still does the same thing when it's switched on, some keypad backlight LEDs come on but the LCD is still off. With no backlight.

Any suggestions of where I should check?
The engine board shows no signs of damage, maybe there is a fuse ****n somewhere?

Red face

I'm not sure what you mean.
The nokia 1100 has a black and white LCD, the 5500 has a colour screen.

It's so bizarre what's happening is when you turn it on, just a couple of LEDs on the keypad turn on for 5seconds then turn off. The LCD remains off the whole time.

I'm thinking maybe a fault in the power supply section...

Any other ideas or suggestions??????
This has been very difficult to fix, usually just replacing the damaged LCD screen works, im starting to scratch my head!!
