6100 contact service no solid solution

Dear Mates

This 6100 came in as network problem and was working good for 1 week after reflowing . Again had the same problem then after reflowing it was working fine with network but occasionally was freezing so I did a software upgrade "Handset went dead" . After this point I tried almost all the solutions suggested in the forums but unable to revive the phone.

Atlast I changed the upp and flashed new firmware. Phone came alive but with contact service and strange thing is that I am not able process AFP, not able to read IMEI and unable to get into local mode with griffin.

Help me Mates.

has been known, after a upp change, for phone to go into contact service, using phoenix program --> self tests, it'll say 'ok'
IMEI rebuild the phone, it'll sort it

Is that true, for UPP change do we need to rebuild IMEI. I believe only for UEM change we need to rebuild IMEI and moreover you will be able to run Phone BB selftests in Griffin if you are able to do it in Phoenix.

My problem is I am not able to detect the phone at all.

Can there be some other problem.

When you change the UPP, you flash it, does phone come alive?

If so, you're saying, it says 'contact service'

Have you phoenix program? I always use phoenix, never used any other program..(so i wont be familiar with it)

In Phoenix program, theres a option, self tests, run test self, it'll detect all ok.

My solution i use, is to IMEI rebuild the phone.

Are you flashing the phone in a proper nokia service jig?

Maybe add a bit of pressure, to the phone, when you 'scan product' using your program..

and / or, clean up the contacts, with IPA, where the contacts meet onto the pcb board.

I am using a Griffin to flash the mobile , I don't have the test jig and I am flashing it through a cable from Griffin.

In Griffin we have an option called Phone bb selftests which is equivalent to self test in Phoenix . Normally I am able to detect all other phones where as this phone I am not able to get into local mode and read even the IMEI data at all.

Ok, probably a dry joint under UPP, as the phone maybe confused and is not regnosing the product.

Ive got a very similar problem, the phone would switch on but stayed white screen all the time!

So i flashed it, it was ok but no network!!!

So................

I reflowed, UPP and other components on the board, the phone came alive again, working fine on networks etc etc!!!!!!

Then it says "insert sim card" so i switched it off and back on again and......................"contact service"

After i flash the phone it is ok for about 30 secs then "insert sim card" then contact service!!!

I use neelix 3 and has option for selftests and everything is passed!!!

Any help please??

try to IMEI rebuild the phone...
If problem, still persists, try changing UPP, as the phone is 'confused'
