6101 insert sim but only with my local sims... works with others - GSM-Forum

hi all mates

got this 6101. it was dead by water damage. managed to revive it. tried local sims and are not detected. tried other sims from other countries in EU such as UK (virgin,Voda,Orange) and all work without a problem.

i am really confused about this.

Please anyone can shed any light on such a strange problem??

did You soleve You problem ??

I have one 6101 after flash and unlock work only whit 2 (era, orange) operator from my country

when I put other card (plus) "insert sim card" on display

I try to flash it whit pm but still same

no mate

if your problem initially was just software then it is a SW issue hmmmm

mine was water damaged before.

no idea what else to flash.... really strange

pls if u get any further let me know... will try to find what is causing this prob and will get back if some results do give something better mate.

call your network and ask thme to send a new sim

same problem.if your operator have the same freq band with other sim card operator, then it's sim card problem.try to clean your sim card or contact net operator for replacement

Hi,Some Simcard need 5V to work ,some works with 3v,This maybe the clue.

all sim card should wokr with nokia phone, 100% contact your service provider if you having any problem contact nokia

I donwload from nokia support site Service Bulletin for nokia 6101

and I found something like that

i think itz sim ic problem.this ic cant read ur sim.remove the sim ic and make jumpar.100 works tested by me.

I encountered the same problem on nokia phones, mostly after liquid damage. Faulty sim ic (ESD filter) is the cause. Replace sim ic (same than 6230, and nokia 1110)
