Member: 26266 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | 6150 - Fading display If I press (hard) above the display (where it says NOKIA) the text "comes back" but as soon as I let go, the gext disappears. I've heard that this is a pretty common problem on the 6150, the 5110 and the 8210, but I couldn't find any threads in this forum about it. On a page I found this image: It's an LCD connector and the reseller claims that changing it will solve my problem. So i pick apart my dear phone... But I can't find _anything_ that looks like the thing on the image. Could someone please give me a hint to where to look. Is it on the actual circuit board or "inside" the display? A picture would be awesome! |

Detattach LCD (together with metal fram) from this board. LCD is holding to UI board with 4 metal "clicks". Look the back side of LCD (the white one). LCD rubber contact is ..... well: made of rubber It can be grey, green, black, or covered with tiny golden wires |

Member: 26266 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | So it's supposed to be between the LCD and the board (?). Well, there is nothing there. The white back of the LCD is flat against the board... OK, suppose I buy this "LCD connector" (doubtful since it costs ~€10), where does it go? Please tell me as exactly as possible. |

Member: 14004 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 6 | Maybe you need glasses? Look more carfully: LCD is assembled from 3 parts: 1. Metal frame 2. Actual LCD (glass part) 3. Plastic back (have white paper on itn with some serial number) This "plastic part" have hole in which sits rubber LCD contact. When you take appart LCD from UI board, do you see contacts on UI board for LCD? This contacts are aligned with LCD rubber contact and the contacts on the glass part of LCD. If you still cannot find this part, it is better to give up and take yor phone to someone to repair it for you. 10 euro should be enough for the part and work |

Member: 26266 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I have glasses Ok, I found it now. I didn't realize it was a part of the LCD. I thought it was a separate component between the LCD and the board. I took it out, flipped it over and put it back "upside-down" and it seems like my display works! Thank you! Is the LCD connector just a piece of rubber or is it conducting? Could I just save €10 by putting any ol' rubber gasket or a piece of a cable there instead? |

It is "sandwich" containig small stripes of conductive and non-conductive rubber. So, if you look carefuly at it you will notice that middl part is like "zebra". | |
