6230i water damage "INSERT SIM CARD"


Hi all, help required

water damage on my phone, sim still works in other phones, when I put the sim in my 6230i, it switches on with the message INSERT SIM CARD, but the sim is inserted....can anyone help or suggest?

Hi, the SIM does work in other phones if that changes anything?

excuse my ignorance, what is an ic and where do you get one?
