6680on/off


i cant findout the on/off switchs track of a 6680. phone does not power on but indicates charging.pls help by giving diagram.phone is water damaged.

This is the 6680 power-Sw schematics/layout , check z4401 also , cause I think it may be involved in water effects .

Nice work bro .... but we repaired this ON/OFF track problem long time ago by making jumper on small silver IC at the upper side of keyboard connector Nice solution really ...

can you please show solution ? got 6680 water damage right on power switch , all circute with ic was damaged .
phone show charging and power on with jaf , np reading or flashing.

check the above pics gaved by @naughtycell...

In 6680 on/off switch track goes on the small glass ic which is on the upper side of Keyboard connector, it's called : Z4401

so you say just remove the glass ic and jumper
IN1--->OUT1

that is a voltage dependant resistor (varistor).

i think it is not important, from looking at the opertaion

no, please do not bridge! or phone will be not work properly!

if you bridge this component then phone will automatically power itself on when battery inserted

best to leave it out.

the operation is:

current is flow from voltage source "pwron".

if voltage there is small (nominal), R4460 resistor is high value. therefore voltage is apply at PWRONX pin of RETU (Via ESD filter). in this state, phone is OFF.

when switch is depressed, current will take the easy path through it to ground. now PWRONX pin of RETU is LOW and phone will power on.

R4460 (voltage dependant resistor) is used to protect ESD filter from large voltage spikes.

so please, just leave that component out if yo cannot find a suitable replacement.
