Member: 49428 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 45 | -= 7610 help please (looking for alternate points)... I am repairing a 7610 "Phone start-up failure. Contact Retailer...." I removed the IC in attached pic but, I may have lifted a few points off during the removal and was wondering if any of you may know where the alternate points are ... I have attached a pic with the points in question circled in red. I want to find the alternate points to retrace the SIM connectors to see if this would fix the failure listed above... Thanks in advance for all of your help! -Kabs Last edited by KaBLooMz; 05-25-2007 at 18:13. Reason: attached pic |

Member: 49428 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 45 | Actually, I wrote down the wrong message. It said "Insert Sim" even when sim is inserted. Lolz, I have 2 7610's I am working on at the same time. One says "Insert Sim", this is the one where I need the points retrace. The other one with the contact retailer, i think my only option is to replace UEM (for which I don't think I can do yet). -=-=-=-=-=-=- Again the question is, does anyone know the alternate point's in the attached diagram. Thanks! -=-=-=-=-=-=- -Kabs |

You can set one lead to the track in question and poke around other vias and connections until you get a buzz meaning you found a short and anything along this track/connection is an alternative connection. |

Member: 521484 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | by the way have you been able to figure out how to fix the "insert sim card" problem even tho a sim card is inserted? I have the same problem ever since I dropped the phone into water. Also would you know how to retrieve info from internal memory without a sim card present? I'm trying to either fix the phone or just to power it on and get all the stuff out of the memory so I can save my contact list, etc. |
