7650

@ willy, nice idea mate, I'll check the power switch first if it is working?

Is it possible nothing displays on the srcreen ("local mode") when I tick phone detect on griffin, if my power switch is not working?

Hi

I got a similar problem. I plug the AC charger and phone shows on LCD the "NOKIA" word and then the charging icon. And that is as far I can get. I press different buttons and the only thing that happens is the light turns on.
I though it was the power button but if I press it while charging, the LCD light comes on so I guess that is not the problem, isn´t it?

Any hint on what could it be? Please help.

Ed

OK, I'm not familiar with this phone, is it normal that while the AC charger is connected the phone reacts (LCD light comes on) to any button I press (or opening the phone)?

If I unplug the charger, the phone does absolutely nothing. Could someone cofirm this?

check the continuity of your power switch, i think its faulty.... as long as the charging indicates it means the sw and uem is ok... double check the switch before doing anything else

Is the power switch replacement a difficult repair? I have the same problem. Where can I buy a new one?

i'm in a similar situation with a 7650 - power switch just suddenly stopped responding! plug charger in and "nokia" appears and the escalating battery symbol appears. Press any button and lights turn on, open keypad light turn on, close keypad light turn on etc, but power button does not work at all!

I know the button itself is just a tiny little component, but will probably cost loads to replace just to be awkward, but where DO you get them from?
