8210 Turns ON when battery inserted & OFF on key press

HI

Ive got this 8210 sitting here in front of me which seems to work Ok. It will ring, but as soon as you press any key phone then turns its self off, also when You put the battery in the phone it automaticly turns on will start normaly, untill you press a key where it again will turn it self off.

I tried to flash the phone, but rollis wont allow me as it tells me to turn the phone off, but as soon as i put the battery in... you gussed it, it turns it self on....

sounds like a little water damage, check the on/off switch and the User Interface chip - i it looks a little bit green - > water

about that flashing problem: its no problem, it depends on timing - but in your case - its no software error - its a hardware error

K thanks

Ive cleaned and reheated the phone and all seems ok though the switch can be a bit flakey, some times needing a good press to get it working, so if it continues to be a bit hard to turn on or the old problem returns I shall replace the switch.
