got "Contact service" not with unlocking... - GSM-Forum

hi
i'm not unlock phone, not changing imei...
i just got "Contact serv" on displei
WinTesla give me failed message on PPM Checksum
is where only way to get phone work is flash it?
may be i might turn off PPM checksum check(like PPM Validity test on start-up)?
any help?

Hi,
As far as I know PPM file is responsible for
the data contained in the eeprom, Cobba and languages in the Flash. So to have that problem I think should be Cobba or eeprom faulty, or just communication between
the Cobba and MAD2 chip. If you phone is 5110
you can still change the eeprom and Cobba from another phone - cheapest solution.
If you can Flash - try it.

You can turn off the WinTesla check, but you can't stop the MAD2 to check the phone before
executing the code.

hi,

power on, phone show insert card, after LCD black and show contact service.
this is PPM FLASH file destory some bytes.
you just need change Flash or program Flash.you must change with some version Flash. can't downgrand or upgrand to other version.use wintesla or other soft check the version. test with 5110,5146,3210 also 3310.

hi,

you must resolder EEPROM,FLASH,MAD' and CCONT.this is usually communication problem.

hi,

i got this "Contact service" not bec. of unlocking, when i check it using wintesla (test), it says "COBBA serial..... failed" and others run OK, any ideas for this problem? i also checked COBB chip and resoldered it (including flash and eeprom but not MAD) but no luck
