Member: 436449 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Building an Easy Flash Cable, some questions I just bought a Nokia 1600 phone yesterday, and I want to play with it, so after looking for cables to connect it to my PC, and finding that most of them cost almost the same as my phone I decided to search a little further to see if I can build my own cable. I found the pinouts of the miniUSB-like connector that the phone has on its lower side. And saw that the two pins in the middle are RX and TX for the FBus. So here is my idea. I have some old schematics on how to build a RS-232 to FBus adapter (which is mainly a RS-232 level shifter, a max232 if I remember correctly), so I'm thinking on updating this to a newer level shifter at 3.3v instead of 5v (because I saw that the battery is rated at 3.7v) and hooking this up with a miniUSB connector (I think it is the same size, isn't it?). Does this make sense? Comments and suggestions are welcomed. |
