i think is possible, if you know what you are removing..

a lot of component around BaseBand area is just for charging/lines to supply RF component..

as long as you dont remove any VBAT+ lone component then sure, the UEM/TIKU/Flash will be still alive

as for removing the user flash area, well i thnk that is possible too, as it is only used as an eeprom in normal operation...

be sure that this "main screen" is all the phone can do though. no charge, flash, calls...
