I have NOkIA n95 8gb.(battery problem)
little beat heat battery and no shoting at +- terminal.
checked two 1200ma battery it gives only hour backup with no use or standby.

check d power consumption while in standby mode . normally this phone take some extra power rather than other mobile. it takes nearly 600mAh .

if current consumption too high then u need to replace PA.
u also post that mobile get some heat so connect mobile with psu & check which part is heating up.
