n80 repair problem

Hi please help have found similar problems to mine discussed but no answers

Been given an N80 to repair outside it warrenty and only repairing as spare phone rather then only phone they have so they are not bother about me messing around inside it

The problem was a damaged screen and a split ribbon. Got hold of both parts
have fitted them and the screen will only come on white

I've checked all connectors can't see a problem
Have checked the screen on another n80 and it works fine
though might be firmware problem so connected it to computer it doesn't come up but this could also be because I can't see the screen if any questions are being asked
I'm just in the process of reforrmating the phone no joy

run out of ideas any help will be appreciated
