Unhappy FBUS works but MBUS not! PLS Help!

I have FBUS/MBUS cable with max232 (gsm-cables.com layout). FBUS softwarez are fully working (datasuite 3, logomanager, kessler-design softwarez, ...) but MBUS warez NOT! they say 'phone not connected' or 'timed out'. I've then built Dejan Kaljevic's simple cable ( 1 transistor + 74HC04 ) but it doesn't work too. I have 2 phones: Nokia 6150 (NSM-1 v5.23) and Nokia 1611 (NHE-5NX v05.13). What's wrong? How can I check why it isn't work? PLS help!

ders somethin wrong with your circuitry.

if you can afford it, just order from www.gsm-cables.net to avoid the hassles.

by the way, mbus needs also a diode and not only a resisitor

Lightbulb

M-BUS don't need resistor. All nokia phones have internaly m-bus pullup. Diode only needed between MAX tx pin and m-bus phone pin

See the link http://www.hut.fi/~ptuomine/nokia/cables/index.htm to see the schematic.
I build a cable from this schemic and works for FBUS and MBUS.

| CABLE | |
| | |
| | |
TX RX GND

Sorry about above drawing, I did not know
this forum has auto-wrapping. Anyway, here
it is in text.

Connect negative of 1N4148 to TX from cable
and connect other end to RX from Cable and
to PIN4 of Phone.

Best Regards,
X-Shadow
